AG Looks to the Future with Besser

Guests from US-based Besser, the century-old concrete production systems manufacturer, recently visited AG’s Dungannon site as part of an all-Ireland tour to celebrate innovation in the industry and champion best practice.

A long-time advocate of Besser systems, AG continues to invest in process improvement to increase output while reducing waste and down time – the latest of which is a £250,000 investment in new state-of-the-art equipment from Besser, which will further increase AG’s performance ability and open opportunities for increased capacity in response to customer demand.

Commenting on the investment, Stephen Acheson, Director at AG said:

“We were pleased to host the representatives from Besser at a time when we’re investing further in our own Besser system, which will help make us even more productive beyond. We’re dedicated to constantly improving the processes and efficiency across all six of our sites in Northern Ireland.  This investment offers best-in-class quality of product, lower running costs and a better working environment for our employees, thanks to increased efficiency and low maintenance Besser production systems.”

The recent investment at AG’s sites includes upgrades to the vibration and main drives, which has vastly improved dry-side handling for workers at AG’s Fivemiletown site. Besser also supplied AG with ‘Op-smart’ software systems, a system designed for site managers that enables them to monitor and fine-tune their outputs for maximum efficiency and waste reduction. This system ensures the right quantities of product are produced at the right time and allows AG to have a highly efficient response to market demand.
