Fivemiletown Team Raises Over £1000 for Marie Curie

Staff at local concrete products’ manufacturer, AG, have raised a generous £1215 in fundraising efforts for Marie Curie over the last 12 months.

This follows a company-wide decision earlier in the year to give each site the autonomy to appoint a charity close to their hearts, facilitated by a site charity champion.

Speaking about the team’s fundraising efforts, Joan Orr, Credit Control Manager at AG Fivemiletown said,

“The decision to raise money for this extremely worthy charity was a unanimous one takenby the team here at Fivemiletown. We all felt this was a very important cause, with all proceeds going directly to help those in need in the local area. ”

“Many staff members have had first-hand experience of Marie Curie’s valuable work in thecommunity, including the help and support that their nurses offer while taking care of loved ones. This service could not continue without the generosity of the general public and this was something the staff at Fivemiletown really got behind and showed their support for through their donations.”

Various activities were planned throughout the year to help with fundraising efforts including a Christmas Jumper Day, a day’s leave raffle and aReverse Hamper raffle where each member of staff brought in a food item that was then put into hampers, which were raffled off.

AG suppliers got in on the fundraising action too by providing additional prizes that were auctioned.

Stephen Acheson, Managing Director at AG commented, “AG is proud to have employees that support local charities year after year. Well done to everyone at Fivemiletown who took part in supporting this worthy cause.”
