Fivemiletown Win Best Plant 2016

We are pleased to announce that our Fivemiletown plant have won this year’s ‘Best Plant’ competition. Congratulations to all staff who have worked hard together to ensure that their audit score has continuously improved each quarter. The staff can now enjoy their “Safety Day” – an extra day’s annual leave as a reward.

The Best Plant Competition is carried out in an audit format once a quarter. The audit covers all aspects of our internal Health, Safety and Environmental Management Systems. The aim of the competition is to continuously improve the health, safety and environment conditions across all AG’s sites while ultimately preventing workplace incidents and promoting a positive health and safety culture across the business.

The bar has been set high for the 2017 competition with an overall average of 88% as a benchmark to build upon. The competition was very close with the bonus points gained by the health and safety initiatives and ‘Good Catch’ ideas proving crucial.

The ultimate goal of the company’s Health and Safety Management system is to eliminate workplace accidents and to ensure that all employees and visitors arrive and leave company premises safely.
