Good Catch’ Health and Safety Initiative

‘Good Catch’ Health and Safety InitiativeLast week saw the launch of AG’s ‘Good catch’ initiative to all of their staff across GB and Ireland. The new health and safety drive is designed to get all staff on the look-out for anything within the workplace that could be improved upon from a health and safety perspective. It could be a simple matter like loose wires in an office or maybe something more complicated involving the vast amounts of machinery in the production plants. Either way the aim of ‘Good Catch’ is to identify these problems or potential problems so that they can be dealt with as quickly as possible, in order to ensure that the entire workforce is kept safe at all times.

Workplace Health and Safety

The ‘Good Catch’ initiative comes as part of a big push that AG are putting on health and safety in the workplace. Recently the business invested in 7 Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Machines that will be kept at their locations in: Dungannon, Fivemiletown, Ballygawley, Toome, Magherafelt, Pomeroy and Carryduff. Staff at each of these locations were recently trained in CPR and the use of the new defibrillator machines.

AG’s Health, Safety and Environment Manager Cathy Donnelly said; “With more than 6,400 cardiac arrests happening in NI every year these machines will not only be of benefit to AG staff, they will also serve in aiding the Health and Safety of the local communities surrounding each of our locations. That is why we wanted to get the message out there that we now have these defibrillators at our 7 sites across NI.”
