Ivor is Streets Ahead on Quality

At AG we are proud to have a number of staff who have showed tremendous loyalty and have been part of our business for perhaps longer than they would care to admit. Someone who fits into that category is County Fermanagh man Ivor Malone.  

After gaining a BTEC Diploma in construction from South West College Enniskillen, Ivor joined AG in June 1994. In his early years at the Fivemiletown headquarters he worked in various different production roles. The wealth of knowledge and experience that he gathered in these roles still prove extremely useful to him every single day in his current role as QA Technician.

QA Technician

This role means that Ivor now works in the Laboratory full-time overseeing quality control in production and ensuring that all products comply with the relevant British Standards. This is done through daily inspections, regular testing as well as internal auditing. Ivor also spends a lot of time performing product trails, material trials and technical research all of which are aimed at improving the overall quality of the end product.

“I love the research and development side of my role- although sometimes it can be very challenging, the sense of accomplishment that you get when you achieve the results that you set out to achieve is fantastic.”

Despite being with AG for over 22 years Ivor still has a real sense of excitement about his job,

 “Over the course of my time at AG I have seen the business change and improve so much and right now I believe that the future is looking very bright, I am looking forward to gaining more and more technical knowledge and hopefully developing my role within AG even further.”
