Philip Dilworth has been with AG for over 20 years and is the Head of Group Specifications.
Why did you decide to follow your chosen career path?
Over 20 years in total. I’ve been with the company 18 years this time round but also worked in the Dungannon Despatch office for 3 years previous to this.
Why did you decide to follow your chosen career path?
I have always enjoyed meeting new people and seeing new places. An external sales role always appealed to me as there’s lots of travelling involved and the day-to-day job is very varied and involves meeting lots of different characters.
What does your day to day job entail?
No two days in this role are ever the same. On Friday I was in London interviewing for a new Specification Executive, on Monday and Tuesday I was tied up in various meetings, Wednesday involved presenting a SuDS CPD to 8 Landscape Architects in Hull and this morning I was standing in the rain on site explaining to a contractor how to build a Vertica® retaining wall.
What do you enjoy about working at AG?
The variety of the work and the people I meet day-to-day both internally and externally.
What would you say to someone considering joining the team at AG?
AG have offered me lots of opportunities over the past 20 years and I would encourage anyone to join the company. The work is varied, and we have a really good team of people around us for support. Working for a medium sized family run company has many benefits and you always feel like you’re part of a team.
When did you join AG and what was your role?
I first joined AG almost 25 years ago, working as a Despatch Clerk in the Dungannon Office.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
My main passion outside of work when I manage to get the time is motorcycling. I have been lucky enough to have toured most of Europe, UK, Ireland and New Zealand by motorbike and also attend as many races throughout the year as I can, including the TT, NW200, MotoGP and World SuperBike events.
I also enjoy running and am currently training for my 4th Half Marathon.
