Ronan O’Dowd has been with AG since May 2016 and is the Landscape Designer in our Outside Rooms Dept.
Why did you decide to follow your chosen career path?
I’ve always had a love for the construction industry, and the landscaping is a big part of that. Landscape design allows me to use my creativity and help people achieve a place to share and enjoy.
What does your day to day job entail?
My day-to-day consists of meeting new and existing clients and holding one-on-one ‘in-house’ landscape design consultations in one of our four showrooms.
I would help analyse the clients site and determine the needs and wants for their landscape area. Following a consultation, I would then turn this information into a Landscape Design Concept Plan.
What do you enjoy about working at AG?
Every project I work on is different and I love showing people the hidden potential in their garden. Seeing a project through from start to design to completion is extremely satisfying.
What would you say to someone considering joining the team at AG?
Get your CV in!! The job is challenging yet very enjoyable, the people are great, and every day is a learning day.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Time outside of work mainly consists of running my children to and from birthday parties and sports clubs. When I get the chance I do however enjoy catching up with friends and attending my local GAA club Tullylish.
