Groundbreaking Momentum – AG Poised for Unprecedented Growth in 2024 Following Record-breaking 2023

AG, a leading manufacturer of paving and building products in the UK & Ireland, has unveiled an ambitious growth strategy for 2024, bolstered by a remarkable company performance in 2023 and the appointment of a GB Sales Director, a first in the company’s 64 year history.

With a legacy of excellence spanning three generations, AG recently revealed its strategic vision for sustained success at its annual Sales Conference. Led by Stephen Acheson, CEO, and Rodney Davidson, Commercial Director, the two-day event celebrated the business’s 2023 achievements as well as outlining the company’s growth roadmap for 2024.

Stephen highlighted the significant milestones achieved by the company in 2023, including a 12% growth in sales, an anomaly amidst challenging sector conditions, solidifying AG’s position as one of the fastest-growing paving and buildings products manufacturers in the UK and Ireland.

Rodney shared key areas of growth for AG in 2024, commenting on opportunities to learn and improve upon for the upcoming year as well as reporting on a favourable start to 2024, with order intake up by 20% year on year.

Beyond strategy and tactics, the conference also served as an opportunity for the Sales and Marketing departments, as well as key stakeholders across the business, to strengthen their relationships. This was accomplished through engaging team bonding activities held at the Jungle NI, followed by a memorable team dinner at the Glenavon House Hotel in Cookstown.

Commenting on AG’s 2023 successes, Stephen Acheson, CEO, shared,

Looking ahead, AG also set out their ambition to achieve a 32% growth in turnover in 2024. The business aims to achieve this through a multifaceted approach that involves diversifying their product portfolio, maximising production capacity and harnessing the skills and expertise of their internal talent.

Central to AG’s 2024 expansion strategy is the introduction of a number of cost-effective products to complement the company’s established premium offering, positioning AG as the preferred supplier for a broader spectrum of hard landscaping requirements moving forward.

The launch of Crescent, an entry-level flagstone with a finely textured finish, marks the beginning of this initiative. Featuring 100% AG sourced aggregates, the range has been specifically engineered to be accessible without compromising AG’s renowned premium quality.

To meet soaring demand, AG has made improvements throughout its business to optimise manufacturing, from a substantial £5 million investment to modernise its equipment and technology to introducing a series of initiatives to maximise production capacity across their sites.

In addition, Great Britain has emerged as a pivotal source of growth for AG, witnessing a remarkable 20% surge in sales revenue in 2023. Responding to this promising trajectory, AG has announced the appointment of James Jack as the company’s first ever GB Sales Director. Promoted from his previous position as Head of Sales for Scotland, James, a seasoned professional in the construction industry will spearhead sales growth throughout the region, providing strategic direction to maximise AG’s market share as well as playing a crucial role within AG’s Executive Management Team.

This milestone appointment aligns with AG’s proactive measures to strengthen its sales team throughout the UK and Ireland. The strategic recruitment of industry experts like Mark Toole and Murielle Jayer, the latest hires to join the GB Specification team, alongside William Moore tasked with leading Business Development in the Republic of Ireland, underscores the company’s commitment to its expansion efforts.

Commenting on AG’s outlook for 2024, Rodney Davidson, Commercial Director, expressed confidence in the company’s trajectory, stating,
