AG has launched its 2026 HSEQ Summer Reboot, expanding the company’s established Safety Reboot programme to cover every area of health, safety, environment and quality. Previously focused primarily on workplace safety, this year’s programme takes a broader approach, recognising the important role each element of HSEQ plays in protecting people, improving performance, reducing environmental impact and delivering the quality products and service AG customers expect.

Beginning on 20 July, the HSEQ Summer Reboot features daily supervisor-led toolbox talks covering a range of HSEQ topics. The short, focused sessions are designed to keep teams engaged while reinforcing practical messages they can apply in their day to day roles.

The topics are made available through AG’s learning management system, Dulann, with supervisors responsible for delivering each session, confirming understanding and recording completion. Shift handovers will also play an important role in ensuring evening and alternative shift teams receive the same information. The programme begins with a review of workplace incidents and the continued importance of preventing the Fatal 6 – the leading causes of serious workplace injuries. The sessions reinforce the importance of planning tasks properly, assessing risks, and consistently following HSEQ policies and procedures. Key safety topics include workplace transport, manual handling, slips, trips and falls, PPE, dust control, lockout and isolation, mobile plant, loading and unloading, non-routine work and emergency response.

Environmental performance is also a key part of the reboot. AG’s Business Improvement Network, known as ‘BIN’, encourages colleagues to challenge waste in all its forms, including materials, energy, time, transport and unnecessary processes. Its simple message, “If it doesn’t add value, BIN it”, supports AG’s continued focus on reducing waste, using resources responsibly and identifying practical improvements across every area of the business.

The 2026 programme also places a greater emphasis on quality, reflecting the appointment of Quality Controller, Sinead Monaghan over the past year and AG’s continued focus on embedding quality across its operations. Toolbox talks cover topics including quality awareness, product checks, testing, traceability, non-conforming products and continuous improvement, reinforcing that quality is everyone’s responsibility and that consistent processes help deliver the high standards customers expect.

Wellbeing remains a priority within AG and is supported through a dedicated session highlighting the company’s Wellbeing value and Activ8 programme. Colleagues are reminded of the support available through the Lighthouse Charity, Health Shield, AG’s Mental Health First Aiders and the Wellbeing Hub on SharePoint.

The programme concludes with a renewed focus on AG’s Good Catch initiative. Good Catches allow colleagues to raise positive observations, identify risks and suggest improvements across safety, environmental performance, quality and process improvement.

By bringing health, safety, environment and quality together within one coordinated programme, the 2026 HSEQ Summer Reboot reinforces the personal responsibility everyone has for protecting colleagues, supporting customers and improving how AG operates. It also helps ensure AG’s core values are lived every day. A stronger focus on quality supports Customer Care, environmental responsibility reinforces Sustainability, process improvements encourage Innovation, and dedicated wellbeing support puts Wellbeing into practice. Underpinning each area is Integrity, with colleagues encouraged to speak up, act responsibly and do the right thing. The short, supervisor-led format ensures the sessions remain practical and engaging, while the extended completion period gives every colleague the opportunity to take part.

Cathy Maguire HSEQ Manager, AG commented:

“HSEQ is everyone’s responsibility. Every decision we make has an impact on the safety of our colleagues, the quality of our products, our environmental performance and the service we provide to our customers. This year’s Summer Reboot brings health, safety, environmental and quality together, to reinforce that HSEQ is embedded in every aspect of our day-to-day work.
By delivering the topics through short, supervisor-led toolbox talks, we can keep the sessions practical, focused and relevant. Our increased focus on quality is particularly important because getting things right first time reduces waste, drives continuous improvement and helps ensure we meet or exceed customer expectations.
Ultimately, the HSEQ Summer Reboot is about putting our values into action- looking after one another, acting with integrity, taking pride in what we do and continually improving. By working together, we can all help create a safer, more sustainable workplace where everyone can perform at their best and #GoHomeSafe”

With strong engagement across the business, the HSEQ Summer Reboot provides an important opportunity to reset for the remainder of 2026 and ensure AG continues to operate safely, responsibly and with quality and Customer Care at the forefront.
