AG Paving + Building Products has been named Mineral Product Supplier of the Year, below £50m, at the 2026 NI Construction Awards, recognising the company’s continued investment in its people, safety, sustainability, quality and manufacturing performance.

The NI Construction Awards bring together organisations from across Northern Ireland’s construction and built environment sectors, celebrating excellence, innovation and best practice throughout the industry.

Judges highlighted AG’s performance across all five assessment criteria, with particular recognition given to the company’s proactive culture and its focus on placing health, safety and wellbeing at the centre of everyday operations.

During the assessment period, AG continued to demonstrate strong performance across several areas of the business, including a £230,000 investment in workforce development, a 57.7% reduction in Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions, a 47% reduction in overall company incidents, a 55% reduction in dangerous occurrences and a 50% reduction in injuries.

Another key element of this achievement is quality, which remains central to AG’s manufacturing approach. The company has its own quarry at its Fivemiletown headquarters, providing direct access to locally quarried limestone aggregates used throughout its product offering.

AG’s on-site wash plant processes, grades and washes reclaimed limestone aggregates from the quarry for use across its production sites, giving the business greater control over the quality and consistency of key raw materials while also supporting the more efficient use of resources.

Sustainability has always been at the forefront of AG’s operations and was another contributing factor in securing this award. The company recently achieved another major milestone through the Responsible Plastic Management (RPM) Program. In July 2026, AG achieved Zero Plastic to Landfill Certification across its Fivemiletown and Toomebridge operations, becoming one of the first UK manufacturing companies to achieve RPM Program certification. The independently verified assessment confirmed that 100% of plastic waste generated across both sites is now diverted from landfill and managed through controlled, traceable recovery routes.

AG’s sustainability credentials are further supported by third-party verified Environmental Product Declarations for more than 370 products and an “Excellent” BES 6001 Responsible Sourcing rating, providing greater transparency around both product impacts and the responsible sourcing of materials.

Health, safety and employee wellbeing remain equally important. AG has strengthened its approach through its partnership with the Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity, mental health first aiders across its sites and suicide awareness training for managers. AG was also reaccredited as a Level 3 Take 5 Workplace, recognising its continued commitment to employee wellbeing and the programmes available to its people, including the Activ8 program.

The award follows further industry recognition for AG’s health and safety performance, including the Sir Frank Davies Trophy for Excellence in Health & Safety and the Fatal 6 accolade at the MPA Awards.

Stephen Acheson, CEO of AG, commented:

“We are extremely proud to be named Mineral Product Supplier of the Year at the 2026 NI Construction Awards. This recognition reflects the collective effort of our people across every area of AG.

From the aggregates produced at our own quarry through to the finished products leaving our manufacturing sites, we remain focused on quality, continuous improvement and delivering for our customers. At the same time, achievements such as reaching Zero Plastic to Landfill demonstrate that improving performance must go hand in hand with reducing our environmental impact.

Combined with the progress we continue to make in health, safety and investment in our people, this award is a fantastic recognition of the work taking place across the entire business.”

The award reinforces AG’s commitment to delivering high-quality, increasingly sustainable construction products while continuing to invest in the people, materials and processes behind them. AG’s company values exist for a reason: they are lived across the business, not simply displayed.

Through responsible sourcing, control over key raw materials, continued product and process innovation, and a strong focus on safety and wellbeing, AG remains focused on its purpose to create brilliant concrete products that help customers build better, faster and with confidence.
