At AG, our dedication to sustainability goes beyond reducing carbon, it also drives our commitment to community engagement. Rooted in our core values of Innovation, Integrity, Customer Care, Wellbeing, and Sustainability, and guided by our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Strategy, we consistently pursue responsible business practices aimed at enriching the communities where we operate.
Recognising the importance of community collaboration, we actively engage with local stakeholders to foster positive social impact. Over the years, we have contributed tens of thousands of pounds to worthy causes, supporting local charities, schools, and community groups through donations, volunteering, and sponsorships. This collaborative approach has earned us accolades such as the Contribution to the Community award at the 2023 Fermanagh Herald Business Awards, and Platinum status in the 2023 Northern Ireland Environmental Benchmarking Survey, organised by Business in the Community (BITC).
Additionally, we have achieved Level 3 in the “Take 5 Steps to Wellbeing” workplace accreditation, the highest possible rating. This reflects our longstanding commitment to enhancing physical and psychological wellbeing through our in-house health and wellbeing programme, Activ8. By promoting the five key steps of the accreditation internally: Connect, Keep Learning, Be Active, Take Notice, and Give, our efforts have also positively impacted the broader community.
Ellie’s Retreat
We installed and donated 70m² of Rosemount flagstones to Ellie’s Retreat, a Fermanagh-based charity. Established after a local family lost their daughter Ellie to a terminal illness, Ellie’s Retreat provides crucial respite accommodation in Castle Archdale for bereaved families. In collaboration with other local suppliers including Balcas and Mannok, we helped create an accessible outdoor area, offering grieving families a beautiful space for much-needed solace.

St Oliver Plunkett’s Primary School and Nursery Unit
In addition, we donated over 50m² of Plaza paving to St Oliver Plunkett’s Primary School and Nursery Unit, located near our Toome manufacturing facility. This donation supported the development of their ‘Green Area,’ creating a dedicated outdoor space for pupils. This initiative not only improved the school environment but also contributed to the overall health and happiness of the children, offering them a peaceful area for relaxation and reflection.

Duneane Community Garden
Nearby, we also donated over 75m² of Plaza paving to Duneane Community Garden to upgrade their poly tunnel floor. This garden, cherished by the local community, offers a range of plants, flowers, and vegetables grown by volunteers, along with classes to foster community engagement.

As we continue to innovate and grow, we remain committed in our mission to build a better, faster, and safer future. Our ongoing efforts and collaborative approach enable us to make a positive impact on society, guided by our core company values. By giving back to our communities, we ensure that everyone shares in our success.
Stay tuned for further updates on AG’s initiatives as we continue to work together towards a sustainable future, hand in hand with our communities.
