A new world-class entertainment centre in Aberdeen, featuring hard landscaping products from AG, is set to be the envy of cities across Europe! Named P&J Live, the state-of-the-art event complex opened in September 2019 and is the largest new entertainment complex in Europe.

Boasting 48,000 sqm of flexible event space, world-class conference and exhibition facilities plus a superior 15,000 capacity arena, the £333 million landmark project also includes two hotels – the Hilton and the Aloft.

The project was a joint venture between Aberdeen City Council, Henry Boot Developments (HBD) and Robertson, who were the main contractors on the project.

AG’s Head of Specification & Commercial Sales (Northern Region), David Speirs commented:

“It was the largest ever project for both firms and we were thrilled to have been awarded the contract to supply AG products on such a high-status development.

It was a major win for AG. We supplied a range of hard landscaping products around the new building, with most of it prominently displayed leading up to the main entrance. Plaza premium granite water-etched paving was used at the entrance of the Hilton Hotel. It’s available in a wide range of depths, sizes and colours – meaning that it’s the perfect tool for creating innovative hard landscaping designs in large urban schemes such as this one, that require both style and longevity.”

The AG product value was £370,000 – a significant contract for us and one which we were proud to deliver. P&J Live is a facility of international prestige and it is hugely satisfying to us that AG paving is literally providing a pathway for visitors to this iconic complex.”

P&J Live replaces the former Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre and is expected to contribute an additional 4.5 million visitors, £113 million of visitor spend and £63 million net Gross Value Added to the Scottish economy over 10 years.
