Plaza Paving Takes the Field

Dexcom Stadium in Galway, home to Connacht Rugby, has undergone a major redevelopment. The project included the delivery of the new North Stand, High Performance Centre, upgraded spectator areas, new concourse spaces and associated landscaping and site works.

Delivered by Conack Construction, the redevelopment was recognised as Building Project of the Year 2026 at the Irish Building and Design Awards, reflecting the quality and collaboration involved in bringing this landmark sports development to life AG’s Plaza Paving in Salt and Pepper was selected for the external hard landscaped areas, providing a durable and contemporary paving solution suited to the demands of a high-footfall stadium environment. The contrasting tones create a clean, modern finish across the public-facing spaces while helping define pedestrian routes and key circulation areas around the stadium. With its low slip potential and strong skid resistance, Plaza Paving is particularly well suited to a rugby stadium, providing reliable underfoot performance during the wetter autumn and winter months when much of the rugby season takes place.

Alongside the paving, TerraKerb® Square Edge in Silver was used to provide a crisp, consistent edge detail throughout the scheme. The combination of Plaza Paving and TerraKerb® delivers a coordinated hard landscaping solution designed to support both the visual quality and long-term performance required for a busy sporting venue.

At Dexcom Stadium, AG’s paving and kerbing contribute to a high-quality public realm that complements the wider redevelopment while providing the durability required for regular matchday crowds and everyday use.
