Continuous Footfall

The Challenge

AG provided Plaza® paving for the globally renowned coffee shop outlet, Pret A Manger which opened a unit at the Nugent Shopping centre in Kent.

With the coffee shop attracting continuous footfall day after day, seven days a week, Macgregor Smith Architects was tasked with creating an attractive yet durable environment for customers to enjoy.

The Solution

AG Plaza® premium paving blocks were selected for the project due to their ability to fulfil both a practical and aesthetic remit.

Plaza® features a finish which offers great slip resistance – an imperative for such a heavily used area where the public safety is of the upmost of importance. To achieve the desired look, three sizes and colours of Plaza® were chosen – Salt, Pepper and Birkes in the 200 x 100 x 80mm format – together they surpassed design objectives and created a dramatic visual effect.
